Token of Solidarity A token of solidarity of HK$200,000 will be provided to the families of each deceased from the fire at Wang Fuk Court in Tai Po. Families of the deceased (including Wang Fuk Court residents, foreign domestic helpers, visitors, persons working at Wang Fuk Court during the fire) are eligible.
Funeral Grant A funeral grant of HK$50,000 to the families of each deceased from the fire at Wang Fuk Court in Tai Po. Families of the deceased (including Wang Fuk Court residents, foreign domestic helpers, visitors, persons working at Wang Fuk Court during the fire) are eligible.
Living Allowance A living allowance of HK$100,000 will be provided to each affected household. This applies to households in all 8 blocks at Wang Fuk Court (residents living in Wang Fuk Court, including tenants). Flat owners who are not occupiers are not target of subsidy.
Injury Grant An injury grant will be provided to all injured persons from the fire, since the injured may lose part of their income during hospitalisation and have immediate living needs after discharge. Calculated from the date of admission, $100,000 will be granted to those who stay in hospital for seven days or more, and $50,000 will be granted to those who stay in hospital for six days or less.
Student Grant A special subsidy of $20,000 will be granted to students living at Wang Fuk Court in Tai Po for them to repurchase textbooks, stationery, computers, and other learning tools, or for transportation expenses between temporary accommodations and schools. The subsidy covers those studying in day schools, including secondary schools, primary schools, special schools and kindergartens, as well as those studying full-time in locally accredited courses at post-secondary institutions. The subsidy will be distributed to the students through the day schools.
Subsidy for Workers A special subsidy of $20,000 will be offered to construction workers, cleaning workers, and security guards working at Wang Fuk Court in Tai Po to cover their loss of income due to employment stoppage or their need to repurchase business equipment. It will be followed up by the Labour Department (LD).
Subsidy for Foreign Domestic Helpers A special subsidy of $20,000 will be provided to foreign domestic helpers (FDHs) employed at Wang Fuk Court in Tai Po. They may not have support from family or relatives in Hong Kong, and their personal belongings may already be completely destroyed by the blaze, or their employers may have tragically passed away. It will be followed up by the LD.
Grant for Flat Owners A special one-off grant of $100,000 will be provided to flat owners of all the eight blocks at Wang Fuk Court in Tai Po.
Rental Grant for Flat Owners An annual rental grant of $150,000 will be provided to owners of each of the flats in Wang Fuk Court to give them more flexibility and choices in their accommodation arrangements. The grant will be provided for two years and disbursed on a semi-annual basis, with each payment being $75,000. The grant is provided on a non-accountable basis.
Relocation Grant for Flat Owners A one-off relocation grant of $50,000 will be provided to the relevant flat owners of Wang Fuk Court to subsidise the relocation and costs for replacing items such as furniture and appliances. The grant is provided on a non-accountable basis.
Relocation Grant for Tenants
  • A one-off relocation grant of $50,000 will be provided to the original tenants of Wang Fuk Court on a discretionary basis. This will facilitate them to move from the accommodation arranged by the Government to the flats in the private market.
  • All original tenants of Wang Fuk Court who choose not to stay in the emergency accommodation arranged by the Government (including youth hostel/campsites/hotel rooms), the Housing Bureau’s transitional housing or the Housing Society’s flats can receive relocation grant when they move out from the abovementioned flats/units to the flats arranged by themselves through the private market. The relocation grant will also be provided on a non-accountable basis and through the “one social worker per household” mechanism.
  • In addition, for tenants who have moved into the Housing Bureau’s transitional housing or the flats of the Hong Kong Housing Society, or tenants who wish to temporarily move to those flats, they will receive a rent-free period till May 31, 2026. If the tenants choose to stay in these flats of the Housing Bureau or the Hong Kong Housing Society beyond May 31, 2026, they will not receive the $50,000 relocation grant even though they eventually rent their own flats in the private market afterwards.
A token of solidarity offered by Beijing Han Hong Love Charity Foundation Provide a token of solidarity of $100,000 to the families of the 168 deceased from the fire at Wang Fuk Court in Tai Po, including residents, foreign domestic helpers, visitors, and persons working at Wang Fuk Court during the fire, to help them get through this difficult time and rebuild their confidence in life.
A one-off Chinese New Year goodwill token offered by Beijing Han Hong Love Charity Foundation Provide a one-off Chinese New Year goodwill token of $5,000 to each flat owner or their families of all the eight blocks at Wang Fuk Court in Tai Po to extend holiday blessings to them.

The above-mentioned emergency cash subsidy, living allowance, token of solidarity, funeral grant, injury grant, grant for flat owners, rental grant for flat owners, relocation grant for flat owners, relocation grant for tenants, and tokens of solidarity and one-off Chinese New Year goodwill offered by Beijing Han Hong Love Charity Foundation will be disbursed through the Social Welfare Department (SWD)’s “one social worker per household” mechanism. The SWD will handle the cases in accordance with the relevant land registration records and flat owners are not required to submit ownership documents. The SWD social workers will provide for the affected households all necessary assistance. Those not yet in touch with the SWD are advised to leave their contact information by calling 182 183 as soon as possible.

Steering Committee on the Support Fund for Wang Fuk Court in Tai Po

The Support Fund for Wang Fuk Court in Tai Po was established on November 27, 2025, pursuant to the Secretary for Home and Youth Affairs Incorporation Ordinance (Cap. 1044). The Steering Committee on the Support Fund for Wang Fuk Court in Tai Po, convened by the Deputy Chief Secretary for Administration, is responsible for advising on matters such as the operation of the Fund, as well as supervising and monitoring the establishment and implementation of support measures under the Fund.

Terms of reference

  1. To advise on the overall strategy, operation and procedures of the Support Fund;
  2. To advise on the management and allocation of the Support Fund;
  3. To oversee the usage of the Support Fund and the implementation progress of the support measures; and
  4. To advise on other matters relating to the Support Fund.
